Every year hundreds of Indian students go abroad for studies and our Bollywood personalities are no exception. Studying abroad gives me lots of exposure to the international world along with providing a range of courses to choose from. Many Bollywood personalities go abroad to study courses related to filmmaking and many go to study general courses. Here we have created a list of a few famous Bollywood personalities who studied abroad.
Ranbir Kapoor is one of the top stars of Bollywood and definitely a fine actor who created a niche for himself after giving memorable performances in movies like Rockstar, Barfi, Tamasha, Sanju, Bramhastra, etc. The scion of the Kapoor family, son of famous actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor made his debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. Before joining the film industry, Ranbir Kapoor studied filmmaking at The School of Visual Arts, New York. After completing his studies there he further pursued a degree in method acting from Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. It was only after completing his studies that he returned to India and assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the movie Black and later made his debut with Saawariya as a lead actor.
Randeep Hooda is known for giving powerful performances in his movies and is a well-known actor who gave some great performances in his twenty years long acting career. Before joining the movies he went to Australia and pursued a bachelor’s degree in marketing management and a master’s in Human Resource Management from the University of Melbourne. After that, he did various jobs in Australia including that of a cab driver but when he decided to be an actor he came to India and started doing theatre. He later joined the theatre group of Naseeruddin Shah and learned the nuances of acting.
Sara Ali Khan
Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of famous Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and her mother Amrita Singh was also a well-known actress. Before joining the movies she pursued a degree in History and Political Science from Columbia University, New York. She was a meritorious student in her college and passed with flying colours. After coming back to India, she decided to be an actress and made her debut with Kedarnath opposite the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She even went on to win Filmfare Best Debut (Female) Award. She was later seen in movies such as Simmba, Coolie No. 1, Love Aajkal, etc.
Priyanka Chopra became famous after winning the Miss World pageant in 2000 and later made her Bollywood debut with the movie Andaaz opposite Akshay Kumar. Today she is a famous international actress with many Bollywood and Hollywood movies under her kitty but many don’t know that before becoming a model she studied in the USA. She completed her high school from there and later went on to pursue many other courses in the United States like learning Western musical singing, dancing, and acting. It’s only after doing these courses, she came to India and started modelling, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Ranveer Singh is known for his infectious energy who made his debut in 2011 with the movie Band, Baja, Baaraat for which he won Filmfare Best Debut (Male) Award. He later proved his acting prowess with movies like Goliyon ki Rasleela Ramleela, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and Gully Boy. He is married to famous actress Deepika Padukone and is one of the top stars today. Before joining Bollywood, Ranveer Singh received a degree in a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Indiana University, Bloomington. After completing his studies he came to India and his Bollywood career started in 2010 with YashRaj Film’s Band, Baja, Baaraat.
