What comes to your mind when you hear the words Pan India, Bahubali series, KGF1&2, RRR, Kantara? Well, these movies besides mainly being South Indian movies, these movies earned lots of moolah at the Box Office and started the trend of Pan India movies and now not only South Industries but some other movies are also promoting them as Pan India movies, maybe basking the glory of the above-mentioned movies or these movies are generally good that the producers are bold enough to release them all over Indian in various languages. Here we have created a list of five of the most awaited upcoming Pan India movies that may do really well at the box office. Have a look:
- Indian 2
Indian was a very successful movie directed by S. Shankar and featured Kamal Haasan, Manisha Koirala, and Urmila Matondkar. In the movie, Kamal Haasan played the double roles of the father and his son. Released in 1996 mainly in Tamil and a dubbed version in Hindi, the movie revolves around the idealistic father who had been a part of Subhash Chandra Bose and is now a vigilante who does not spare even his own son. Now it’s Indian 2 is coming after 27 years with Kamal Haasan in the main lead along with Gulshan Grover, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakulpreet Singh, etc. The release date is not announced yet because the production of the movie faced lots of issues but it may release at the end of this year or early 2024.
- Ponniyin Selvan 2
Ponniyin Selvan is an epic and one of the most-read books in the Tamil language which is a period drama about the mighty Chola Kingdom that ruled its kingdom for 1000 years, a record in itself. Many famous filmmakers right from MGR to Kamaal Haasan to Mani Ratnam tried to make it sometimes because of date issues, sometimes because of budgeting but finally, Ponniyin Selvan has been made with the cast of Chiyan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha in pivotal roles. The music was given by the Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman, and produced by Lyca films and Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies. This epic drama historical action movie indeed has lots of budgets and a running time of more than 5 hours, the makers decided to make it in two parts namely PSI and PSII. Made at a budget of five hundred it’s one of India’s costliest movies. PSI was released last year and became a big hit and PSII will release on 28th April 2023.
- Project K
Project K is the working title of an upcoming Pan India movie starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie was first announced in February 2020 but because of corona and the lockdown the shooting had to be canceled but it resumed when things got normal. It’s going to be India’s first post-apocalyptic dystopian movie set in the future. Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyajanthi movies it’s made on a huge budget of more than 500 crores. It will show the future like in a never seen avatar. Its shooting is going on simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages. Till now they released three posters that were of the level of Hollywood movies. In fact, the Mahindra group of companies joined hands with them to make the futuristic cars that will be shown in the movie. Scheduled to be released on 12 January 2024, it will be interesting to watch what this movie has in offering to the audiences.
