4 Tips to Maintain and develop good posture
Modern hectic lifestyles have increased the risks of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, back injury etc. The reason being office jobs demand us to be at our desks throughout the day. While it is practically impossible to shift jobs to one that involves walking around or being active, it is possible to opt for better posture to minimize the bad impacts of sitting.

- Firstly, sit at the edge of the chair, next, roll your shoulders and neck forward and slowly pull your head and shoulders up into a tall sitting position. This is the best method to find the best posture for you. Now, push your lower back forward and hold for several seconds. Release your body slightly and now, the recent position you are sitting in is good posture for your body.
- Maintaining the right posture while sitting for long periods of time can be a hard task, moreover sitting for long hours continuously is also known for reducing blood circulation in the body. Take necessary breaks to avoid pain. stretching your arms and neck during breaks to prevent stiffness is also suggested to maintain a good posture.
- Another method is to ensure that your body weight is evenly spread across your hips. It is also important to position your knees at right angles with the floor and keep your feet on the ground. Use ergonomic footrests if you can’t reach the ground for posture alignment and to avoid back and neck pain.
- It is important to keep your wrists straight while using a mouse to avoid muscle strain and fatigue. Positioning the screen at eye level while working also plays an important role in developing a good posture. It is advised to place the screen at arm’s length from you and adjust the screen position to your eye level while using a laptop or pc. The best way to do this is by placing a stack of books below the computer screen.
