Nagarjuna Recently Celebrated His 62nd Birthday on 29th August

Nagarjuna better known as Akkekini better known as Akkekini Nagarjuna is one of the biggest stars in the Telegu film industry. Born on 29 August 1959, Nagarjuna celebrated his 62nd  Birthday with his family and close friends. Nagarjuna starred in more than 100 movies, mostly in Telegu and a few in Hindi and Tamil. He delivered many big hits in his illustrative career and is a recipient of various awards including nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and two National Film Awards namely, for Ninne Pelladata (1996), which he produced won the Best Feature Film in Telugu and a Special Mention as an actor for Annamayya (1997).

Nagarjuna was born in Chennai (Then Madras) and veteran actor Akkikeni Nageshwara Rao is his father and his mother’s name is Anupama. His family belongs to Ramapuram in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh but his father moved to Madras seeking a career as an actor. They later moved into Hyderabad and his father became one of the biggest Telegu actors of his time. Nagarjuna did his schooling at Little Flower Junior School, Hydrabad and after that, he did Mechanical engineering at College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in Madras for a year and later completed his engineering from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Despite having a degree in engineering he always wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father as an actor. His first stint as an actor started as a child artist in the 1967 movies Sudigandalu and Velegu Needalu, both of which featured his father Akkikeni Nageshwara Rao in the main lead. He made his debut with the Telegu movie Vikram in 1986 and it was the remake of the superhit Bollywood movie Hero which featured Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri. Shobana was the female lead in Vikram and the movie went on to become a success at the ticket window but his first blockbuster movie was Aakhari Poratam, written by Yandamuri Veerendranath, and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao where he was paired opposite Sridevi and Suhasini. Since then there has been no looking back for him and he delivered many hits in his career spanning around four decades.

He acted in a few Bollywood movies like Khudagawah, Criminal, Zakhm, etc which made him famous out of his native state also. At the age of 62, he can still give young actors in their 20s and 30s a run for their movies. His upcoming Telegu movie is ‘The Ghost’, an action thriller movie slated to be released this year. He is also making a comeback in Bollywood in the fantasy drama movie, Brahmhastra which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt. The movie is directed by Ayan Mukerjee and produced by Karan Johar. Touted as the most expensive Bollywood movie ever, it will release on 9 October 2022.  Here’s on the occasion of Nagarjuna’s birthday, we all wish him luck for his all future endeavors
